Westport : town profile Westport CT

Westport boasts of being one of the premier real estate areas in Connecticut to reside. For the last three quarters of a century, Westport has been a retreat for artists, writers and show people, seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of the City.

Today, Westport has a population of about 26,000. The creative arts still have a great influence on the life of the Town. The refurbished Westport Country Playhouse draws a full house for their performances every summer. The Levitt Pavilion is host to rock bands and the classics for the music aficionado. The town has antique stores, art galleries and a newly expanded library.

For the avid golfer and tennis player Westport has for their residents The Longshore Club, one of the finest recreational facilities in Fairfield County. Situated right on Long Island sound, the club, in addition to its tennis courts and golf courses, has a beautiful club house, a fine restaurant, swimming pools, paddle tennis, a marina, a sailing school and an ice skating rink in the winter. Westport offers something for everyone.
